Privacy Policy

This policy is short because Resona collects very little. Almost everything the app knows about you stays on your iPhone and is never sent anywhere.

What stays on your device

Your sessions, your check-ins and check-outs, your Resonance Profile, your streak, your settings, and the pitch found by Find Your Note are stored in a single file in the app's own storage on your iPhone. None of it is uploaded, synced, or backed up to us. It is included in your iPhone's own encrypted backups if you make them, and it is deleted when you delete the app.

What leaves your device, and only if you choose

• A star on the chart. Only when you tap "Place it". It carries one word from Resona's fixed list, the brainwave band, the session length, how far your reading moved, and, only if you switch it on, your two-letter country. It carries no name, no e-mail, no account, and nothing that identifies you. Stars disappear after 30 days, and you can take one down sooner.
• An optional line. If you are a Plus subscriber you may add up to 80 characters to a star. It is held for a check before anyone else can see it.
• A word you send. One of eight phrases Resona wrote, the star it went through, and the anonymous id it is addressed to. There is no free text anywhere in this: every message that can exist is one we wrote, which is why it needs no review.
• A report. If you report a star, we store which star and the reason so it can be reviewed.
• An anonymous ID. Resona signs in to Firebase anonymously so the database can tell one device from another. It is a random identifier, it is not linked to your Apple Account, and it is used only to let you delete your own star and to stop the same person holding a star twice.

Your microphone

Find Your Note listens for about six seconds while you hum, and works out the pitch on your iPhone as the sound arrives. Nothing is recorded, nothing is written to disk, and no audio ever leaves your device. All that is kept is a single number, the frequency in hertz. You can turn it off again in Settings at any time.

Apple Health

If you turn it on, Resona writes finished sessions to Health as Mindful Minutes. Resona never reads any health data, not your heart rate, not your sleep, not anything. The permission is write-only.

What we do not do

• No advertising, no ad identifiers, no ad networks.
• No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
• No selling or sharing of data with anyone, for any purpose.
• No accounts, no e-mail addresses, no passwords.
• No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Resona receives only whether a subscription is currently active. We never see your payment details.

Children

Resona is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. To remove a star you placed, open it on the chart and take it down, or write to the address below with the approximate time you placed it and we will remove it. All stars disappear by themselves within 30 days.

Where it is stored

The chart runs on Google Firebase (Firestore) in the European Union. Google acts as our processor.
